The Singing Men of North Central Texas spent October 17-30, 2010 completing their long awaited mission to Ukraine. With three separate flights the group arrived in Kiev, boarded their Viking River Cruise ship and began the eleven concerts that they would perform in six different cities. From the initial two crowded concerts at Dom Evangeliya in Kiev we were witnesses to the powerful presence of the Holy Spirit as He took over all that happened. Not only were each of the concerts standing room only, with people spilling out in the halls and foyers, but it was evident from the first that the Lord was moving in power to draw people to Himself.
Since 2007, our concert attendees have given and prayed for this mission and these are the results. Our group is living in the wonderful afterglow of seeing the miraculous, moving of our Father God! We know that we have stood on holy ground. And we recognize that everything that has happened is of the Lord, Praise the Lord!
Your question is, “What’s next?” The men have voted to return to Ukraine for another tour as quickly as possible. We will be returning April 23, 2012. This is the shortest period of time we have ever had to make plans and raise funds for a mission. But the men felt that the door is open; God is blessing; we must go now.
We will be singing in three churches in mainland Ukraine, but most of the concerts will take place on the Crimean peninsula – a much more Orthodox/communist area of the country.
The other five Singing Men of Texas chapters in the state are planning a mission tour in Ukraine October, 2012, six months after our next tour. Tim Studstill, Texas Baptist Director of Music and Worship, will organize and direct that mission. As with our 2010 tour, Michael Gott, international evangelist from Keller, will preach.
As the scripture says in John 4:35, "I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for the harvest." Join us in praying that God would show His favor and a harvest of souls will continue.
