The Singing Men of North Central Texas were in China April 16 - 26 for a concert tour of mainland China. For ten days, we sang concerts in the largest churches in Beijing, Shanghai, Xian, and Nanjing. The Singing Men are one of the first large groups to go into China in cooperation with the Texas Partnership Ministry of the Baptist General Convention of Texas. For 5 years, Texas Baptists will assist in the work of sister churches in China.
Faye Pearson, life-long teacher in China, was our advisor/manager in - country. Hosts from the China Christian Council accompanied us throughout our journey. They became our friends, helping us to understand the church in China as it now exists.
An e-mail journal of the trip by David Bolin was sent to subscribers on a daily basis. Included with the journal were pictures by Stan Ford. An archive of the journal is available on this web site plus additional pictures and notes on our experiences.
